I remember when the owner of the NY state regulated Vernon Downs Racino complained about having to pay the state minimum percentage on slots, whereas it's closest competitor, native American owned Turning Stone has no such minimum payout percentage requirement.
Today, while playing at Turning Stones' little spin off casino, Yellow Brick Road Casino, I had the opportunity to see what percentage they are paying out (at least on the machine I was on).
The attendant asked if she could look at my machine real quick (a Lock it Link). When she turned the key, I saw the payout percentage listed as 87.xx% (I didn't take note of the decimal values).
I suspect the machines don't vary much from that percentage, and this perhaps explains how bad to this place usually makes me feel in such a short time.
It's just too bad native American casinos aren't more transparent about this.
